Gone West

In aviation memorial fashion, we honor and remember lost SATA participants.

Andrea North

We mourn with great sadness and heavy hearts the sudden and unexpected  passing of Andrea North, wife of Matt North, on July 28th, 2020.  Without Andrea and Matt's support, SATA would not exist. We miss her sweet and uplifting presence among many other treats.

Ken Szeluga

Ken was a SATA Mentor, a Certified Aircraft Mechanic, and a Pilot among many other things. We are greatly saddened by the unexpected loss of our friend and mentor Ken Szeluga. His selfless, friendly and motivating personality will be greatly and forever missed.

Travis Chevallier

Travis Chevallier

Travis was a SATA Mentor, donor, Military Veteran, Pilot, and much more. His presence and support are sorely missed.

Neal Bowker

Sadly, we lost Neal on November 3rd, 2024. Neal was an Army veteran, a lover of many things, but especially old cars, airplanes, and supporting youth in Tucson. He acquired a hangar at Ryan Field where he stored his Cessna 172 and restored his beautiful cars. Early in SATA's existence Neal would ask questions about us, and for years he and his wife Jo have donated very generously to SATA. Neal and Jo bought a larger hangar and shortly thereafter they donated the original 40' X 40' hangar to SATA and continued to make donations and pay all of the hangar expenses. Neal was a kind and gentle soul who never sought any recognition for his efforts. Jo continues their relentless support for SATA since his passing. It goes without saying that he will be greatly missed by the SATA volunteers and especially the teens and children of Tucson. May he rest in peace.
